As a founding member of Sherman’s legendary “Tone Deaf Cowboys”, then, through his partnership with Ft. Worth’s Ed Rogers, Matthew Williams (Blarney Brothers, Chuck Rainey Trio, Soul Kitchen), Rodger Harrison (Blarney Brothers, Free Whiski) and Patrick Brooks, formed the “Gypsy Troubadours”. Ennis’s songs were at the core of the success of these bands, and were key to sparking the “Y’all-ternative” movement in North Texas’ music scene.
Today Bain is playing with The Bain Ennis Band; continuing his decades long collaboration with Matthew Williams, Roger Harrison, Ed Rodgers and joined by legendary Ft. Worth guitarist Danny Hubbard and fiddle player Etienne Cremieux in the making of “Keeper Of The Flame”, the latest CD recently released in October 2020.
In addition to the just released “Keeper Of The Flame”, be sure to check out his debut solo CD; “Rough Cut’s of Basics”. That project received much praise for its sublime quality and cross-genre appeal. Williams and Harrison support him on the tracks, as-well-as “Tone Deaf Cowboys” collaborator Larry Martin (to name a few).
Stay tuned for more dates and for the next CD out in the summer of 2021, “Scarecrow”.
